The Total Money Makeover – Dave Ramsey

* Read this book.  It’s profound in its simplicity.  No tricks or gimmicks – this book should be required reading as early as high school.  Again, Dave doesn’t say anything that you probably haven’t heard before … but as he says, “Some times common sense isn’t all that common”.

The Richest Man in Babylon - George Samuel Clason

* Again, not a profound book or a get rich quick manual but a common sense approach to personal finance as told through some interesting story telling and parables.  I found it to be a motivating book and again, very practical – spend less than you make, pay off your debts, and save.
